West Indies team is under pressure

Bangladesh cricket team put a 239-run lead in front of West Indies team in their first innings. After coming to chase this poor score, West Indies has scored 17 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. World best all rounder Shakib Al Hasan has taken the wicket of Dale Richards and put some pressure over the host team. Heavy rain washed the pitch. That is why; bowlers did not forget to take the benefit. Now, Ryan Austin and Omar Phillips were not out at the end of day 2. Now they need more 221 runs to make the 1st inning equal. Mashrafe Mortaza played well as Bangladesh skipper. He scored 39 runs off 52 balls where he hit two boundaries and two over boundaries. Tail ender Shahadat Hossain also played an important 33 runs innings. Now, more three days are left. Anything can happen any time. Let us see if new West Indies team can make any climax or not.

The all time best player in men’s tennis game, Roger Federer, is now looking for his sixth straight win in US Open. He is now in comfort mood after getting 14th and 15th Grand Slam titles in French Open and Wimbledon. These two victories have put him in the top of ranking. You will be happy to hear that he has become No.1 men’s player of all time in Grand Slam single titles. Now, he has become a big threat for other tennis players. Sri Lanka Won the 1st Test Match by 50 Runs

Sri Lankan cricket team won the first Test match by 50 runs and took a 1-0 lead over Pakistan at Galle International Stadium. This victory shows that it is not an easy task to defeat Sri Lanka in their home ground. After the end of second innings, host team put only 168-run target in front of tourist team. It was the third-highest total in fourth innings here. So, Pakistan cricket team would have to make record to win the match. They got all out within 117 runs. Rangana Herath was the hero of this match. His 4 for 15 made the path easier for Sri Lanka team. Pakistan failed to get a victory in their first test match since terrorists attacked in Lahore.

Mohammad Aamer made his debut in Test cricket against Sri Lanka and performed well. He disturbed the Sri Lankan batsmen with his swing in both side and seam. Mohammad Yousuf’s return in the international cricket could not save Pakistan team. Now, bowlers could scold the batsmen for their failure to reach the winning streak.

Shane Bond and Daryl Tuffey has been recalled New Zealand Squad

New Zealand cricket team will be rejuvenated after getting back their two fast bowlers Shane Bond and Daryl Tuffey either in Test or limited-overs squad. These two players had terminated their contract with rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL). They have been recalled in New Zealand cricket team under an amnesty for players. This community work for rebel players who quit ICL. Both Bond and Tuffey were involved with rebel ICL. That is why, national selectors left them from New Zealand team. Now, they have got chance once again to prove their talent. Bond will tour to India with New Zealand A team. On the other hand, Daryl Tuffey took his place in Test squad. However, both of them have been selected in the ODI squad alongside Kyle Mills. It is sure that their inclusion in the national side will help to increase New Zealand’s strength.

India won the 4-match ODI series by 2-1

Indian cricket team has won the four-match ODI series by 2-1 after torrential rain washed out the final ODI match. Winning the toss, Indian skipper invited West Indies to bat first. However, they could manage only 27 runs in 7.3 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Chris Gayle got out before putting any single score. Both Runako Morton and Ramnaresh Sarwan scored 12 runs. Three runs came as extra. Ishant Sharma took the wicket. Another bowler Ashish Nehra bowled well with line and length. At last India could win an ODI series in Caribbean ground. MS Dhoni’s India team showed that tiredness could not bother victory. It is proved that India is not a cat in abroad series.

MS Dhoni became player of the series as he finished the series with highest score. He compiled 182 runs at an average of 91.00.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 1st Test match 2009: Knee injury has ruled out Muttiah Muralitharan

The injury news of spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan has come as a great shock for Sri Lanka team. So, Sri Lankan cricket team will have to face tourist Pakistan without their key bowler. He has been ruled out of the three-match Test series after falling into knee injury. So, he will have to sit out of the opening test match which will kick off at the Galle International Stadium on Saturday. Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara is hopeful about his return with second test match. 
Muttiah Muralitharan has bagged two world records both in ODI and Test cricket. He is the highest wicket taker in these two forms of cricket game. He has 770 wickets in Test and 505 wickets in one-day international cricket. The question is that who will replace his position in the main squad. However, Sri Lankan selectors have selected two spinners- Rangana Herath and Suraj Mohamed. Any of them will be selected in the place of Muralitharan. No doubt, his absence will affect Sri Lanka’s performance in home ground. Let us if Pakistan can take any advantage from it or not.
